The Montecarlo Ballet

In July ’87 Pierre Lacotte e Ghislaine Thesmar offer her a contract with the “ Ballets de Montecarlo”. The following art directors, Jean-Yves Esquerre e Jean-Christophe Maillot, give space to her “solo repertoire”. During the years spent with the Ballets de Montecarlo, Vanessa Tamburi engages in diversified repertoires, from the most traditional of Fokine’s choreographies – Serge Golovine gives her the role of the doll in “Petroushka” and the role of the dreamer in “Le spectre de la rose”– to the stylish choreographies of Bournoville, such as “Napoli” – where Frank Andersen wants her for the pas de deux “Flower festival in Genzano” - or also to the more neoclassical approach to movement - her long-limbed body and her dynamic dance, making her fit beautifully into Balanchine and Tudor’s choreographies.

It is in “Serenade/ Concerto Barocco/ Theme and variation/ 4 Temperaments/ Agon e Raymonda Variations” (Balanchine) and “Leaves are fading” (Tudor) that Vanessa Tamburi reveals her outstanding qualities as a dancer.

Various choreographers are inspired by her personality: Danis Wayne creates for her “Just another dance”, whereas Nicolas Musin in “Lamento” and “Riflessi” unveils her dramatic qualities, while Jean-Christophe Maillot creates for her the role of the squirrel in his “L’enfant et les sortileges”.
