The Teacher
Vanessa is a passionate dance coach who has dedicated a significant part of her career to inspiring students through the art of movement.
With over 20 years of experience teaching ballet and contemporary dance in Italy, Tanzania, and the USA, she has worked with diverse groups of dancers, ranging from beginners to seasoned performers. Her teaching journey has taken her to various settings, including the Dance Cavise Studios in Mamaroneck, NY, where she taught ballet classes for both students and adults for seven years. She has also coached contemporary dance and composition in organizations across Tanzania, Papua New Guinea, Venezuela, and the USA.
In her classes, Vanessa focuses on technique, creativity, and self-expression, helping each dancer discover their unique voice. She has led contemporary dance workshops for the Visa2dance and Time2dance Festivals in Tanzania since 2008, supporting the MudaAfrica organization and its mission to assist street youth and artists—a particularly rewarding experience.
Through improvisation and composition, she aims to empower young dancers, using movement as a means of expression and a tool for personal growth. Collaboration with talented dancers sparks her creativity and creates an environment where all participants feel free to explore and express themselves through dance.
Vanessa's goal as a coach is to teach dance techniques, provide an understanding of the body in space, and instil confidence and passion for the art form in every student. She firmly believes that dance has the power to change lives and is committed to being a guiding light on each dancer's journey.
